Zachary A. Keller has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana.
As the United States Attorney, Keller is responsible for overseeing the investigation and litigation of all criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States within the Western District of Louisiana. The jurisdiction of the Western District consists of 42 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes and encompasses two-thirds of the state’s geographic area.
Keller began his service as United States Attorney on September 29, 2025.
Before his appointment to the Western District of Louisiana, Keller served as a Deputy Chief and Project Safe Neighborhood Coordinator in the Major Crimes section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
During his tenure in Miami, Keller worked within the Criminal, Appellate, and Civil divisions. His prosecutorial experience in Florida included cases involving money laundering, child exploitation, carjacking, and manslaughter.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Miami in 2021, Keller spent more than five years as a staff attorney at the Federal Trade Commission, where he worked on consumer protection cases.
Keller began his legal career in the private sector, working in the Dallas office of Jones Day.
A native of West Monroe, Keller attended George Welch Elementary, West Monroe Middle School, and West Monroe High School. He attended Louisiana State University on a Chancellor’s Alumni Scholarship, which provided student employment as well as room and board.
Keller graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University. He subsequently attended Yale Law School, graduating in 2013, and also earned a master’s degree from Louisiana State University.
