L&T Wins Water Treatment Orders in Rajasthan
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured significant contracts for water and effluent treatment projects from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. These orders focus on enhancing water supply infrastructure across the state.
The Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) division of L&T will undertake an EPC order for the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project – Phase II, Package-1. This involves installing over 5,251 kilometers of transmission and distribution pipelines. The project also includes constructing 38 ground-level reservoirs with a total capacity of 40 ML, along with 20 pump houses and 132 overhead service reservoirs capable of holding 25 ML.
The company values this particular order between ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 crores. The Rajasthan rural water supply project aims to meet the increasing water demand in 285 villages, as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati, located in the Jhunjhunu district.
Another project awarded to L&T involves strengthening and rehabilitating the existing water supply system in the Kekri-Sarwar sector of Ajmer district. This includes the supply and installation of 43 kilometers of transmission pipelines, alongside associated electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA works.
Both projects include a one-year defects liability period and a 10-year operations and maintenance component.
These repeat orders underscore L&T’s expertise in executing critical water infrastructure projects. To date, L&T has successfully delivered 24 water projects in Rajasthan alone, demonstrating thier commitment to improving water resources in the region.
