Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato has advocated for the production potential of her home country, stating that Argentina has everything for filming.

Lopilato, who has balanced a high-profile international life with a consistent presence in Argentine cinema and television, continues to emphasize the country’s suitability for film projects. This perspective comes as the actress maintains a residence in Vancouver, Canada, where she lives with singer Michael Bublé and their four children: Noah, Elías, Vida, and Cielo.

Recent Productions and Streaming Projects

Lopilato’s recent work highlights the diversity of Argentine settings and genres. On June 16, 2025, Amazon Prime Video released Mensaje en una botella, an Argentine production starring Lopilato and Benjamín Vicuña. The film is a blend of science fiction, drama, and comedy, utilizing the vineyards of Mendoza as a primary backdrop.

In the film, directed by Gabriel Nesci, Lopilato portrays Denise, a sommelier who discovers she can communicate with her past through messages sent in wine bottles in an attempt to alter her life’s direction. The narrative focuses heavily on the emotional bond between Denise and her father.

To prepare for the role, Lopilato engaged in professional training, including courses and interviews with experts in the field of sommellerie. She noted that she learned technical details ranging from the proper way to hold a wine glass to the specific methods used to describe aromas and flavors.

The production also featured Benjamín Vicuña as David, an eccentric and literal character with a specific fascination for Mayan culture. Vicuña noted that the project allowed for the exploration of values and feelings through the lens of comedy.

Beyond her work with Amazon Prime Video, Lopilato has been a part of significant Netflix productions. In 2020, she starred in La corazonada, which was the first Argentine production for the streaming platform. Directed by Alejandro Montiel and based on a novel by Florencia Etcheves, the film serves as a prequel to the 2018 production Perdida.

In La corazonada, Lopilato plays Pipa, a young agent assigned to the Homicide Division. The plot centers on the investigation into the death of a 19-year-old woman named Gloriana, who was found dead in her bed. The investigation, led by a character named Juánez, played by Joaquín Furriel, explores themes of corruption and family secrets.

Lopilato also starred as Pipa in the Argentine film Unfinished Affairs, known in Spanish as La maniobra de la tortuga.
