The Nashville Predators have added Luke Richardson to Andrew Brunette’s coaching staff as an assistant.The announcement came Tuesday,solidifying the team’s support system for the upcoming season.
Richardson,formerly a coach with the Chicago Blackhawks,brings a wealth of experience to Nashville.He joins Derek MacKenzie, Darby Hendrickson, and goaltending coach Ben Vanderklok.
General Manager Barry Trotz emphasized Richardson’s value. “We believe he will be a valuable new voice,” Trotz saeid, citing Richardson’s leadership and ability to connect with players.
Richardson’s NHL career spans 21 seasons and 1,417 games as a defenseman. He also served as an assistant coach for Montreal, the New York Islanders, and Ottawa. The Predators’ assistant coaches boast a combined 3,656 regular season games of NHL playing experience.
He replaces Todd Richards, who had been with Nashville as October 2020. The Blackhawks fired Richardson on Dec. 5, 2024.
