Lunar Remastered Collection: A Nostalgic Journey Through Enchanted Worlds

GungHo Online Entertainment has announced the launch of the Lunar Remastered Collection, set to captivate gamers across various platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, starting April 18, 2025. This esteemed collection promises an immersive experience by featuring enhanced versions of the beloved JRPGs, LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete.

LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete follows the journey of Alex, an aspiring Dragonmaster, as he bands together with his friends to combat the perilous emergence of the Magic Emperor. The game delves into the enchanting world of Lunar, where serene villages and dark lairs filled with monsters await exploration. The story explores themes of friendship and heroism, woven together with the power of hope. With a focus on the bond between Alex and his companions, the game is filled with emotional twists, high-stakes battles, and plenty of magic[1].

LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete, set a thousand years after the events of Silver Star, follows Hiro and his friends as they search for the Goddess Althena alongside an enigmatic girl named Lucia. This grand quest introduces players to new landscapes and enemies, such as Borgan and White Knight Leo, who hunt down the group to eradicate what they deem to be the “Destroyer of Lunar.” The game’s deep connections to the mythos established in Silver Star Story present an expansive world filled with history and secrets to uncover[1].

The Lunar Remastered Collection boasts enhanced graphics, audio, and quality-of-life improvements. Fans can relive classic adventures or explore them in a new light with wide-screen support, revamped PS1 pixel art, and high-definition animated cutscenes. The collection includes Japanese and English voiceovers for fully-voiced attacks and incantations, as well as timeless animated sequences that capture the hearts of players today.

Players will also enjoy two new language options, French and German, along with Japanese and English subtitles and sound. To streamline combat, the game offers options to speed through battles and improve strategy settings, making it more accessible for modern audiences.

Physical editions of the collection will be available exclusively via Amazon in North America for $54.99. In Europe, physical PlayStation 4 and Switch editions will be distributed by Clear River Games, priced at €54.99. These editions feature reversible covers showcasing two new key arts, exclusively illustrated by Toshiyuki Kubooka for the Lunar Remastered Collection[5].

Fans of the Lunar series can now experience 90s-esque animated cutscenes, iconic characters with classic JRPG charm, and old-school turn-based combat with a twist. JRPG enthusiasts and long-time supporters will be captivated by the game’s romantic storytelling and stunning soundtrack, witnessing firsthand how Lunar paved the way for generations of JRPGs to come.

With its enchanting worlds, strategic turn-based action, powerful voices, and captivating animated sequences, the Lunar Remastered Collection promises to be an unforgettable journey for any gamer looking to relive nostalgic moments or discover timeless adventure.
