Financial Aid Statistics
In the fall of 2024, Luther College awarded a total of $48.2 million in gift aid to its students. The average need-based financial aid package for fall 2024 was $51,868, covering approximately 80% of tuition and fees. Looking ahead to fall 2026, merit scholarships are available, possibly reaching up to $37,000 annually.
Beyond need-based and merit-based aid, Luther College offers additional scholarships recognizing talent in the performing arts, including music, theater, and dance.
The Luther College impact Award
Launched in 2022, the Luther College Impact Award represents a meaningful investment in student access. Initially available to Iowa residents, the award has been progressively expanded to include students from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and, most recently, Illinois. The Impact Award covers full tuition for qualifying students.
As of late 2024, more than 65 students from financially needy families have benefited from the Impact award, with a significant proportion being first-generation college students. This initiative directly addresses barriers to higher education for students who might otherwise be unable to afford a private college experience.
