Maan and Kaj van der Voort Celebrate Holidays Abroad
Dutch singer-songwriter Maan de Steenwinkel and her partner, Kaj van der Voort, are spending the christmas and New Year holidays outside of the netherlands for the first time. Following a recent trip to Namibia in October, documented by Maan on her Instagram account on Wednesday, the couple has continued their travels and is now in Japan.
“Now celebrating Christmas and New Year not at home for the first time,” Maan wrote alongside sunny photos posted to Instagram. She added,”Although I must say that skipping obligatory parties for once is quite nice.”
Taking Time to Recharge and Explore
Maan de Steenwinkel scaled back her professional activities after the summer of 2023, pausing new music releases and live performances. At the time, she expressed a need for personal space and a desire to broaden her experiences. “I want to see more of the world,” she stated, adding, “I need to turn inward and feel what I really like.”
Despite the pause, 2023 also marked a significant achievement for Maan: a performance at the Lowlands festival. Lowlands is a major music festival in the Netherlands, and her appearance there was a long-held dream.
