The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7 a.m. local time on the eastbound Autoroute 10 access ramp leading to Route 132 in Brossard, near the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, according to coverage from CTV News and Dexerto. According to Quebec provincial police, known as the Sûreté du Québec, the driver was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No other injuries were reported from the morning incident.

Highway Ramp Closure and Cleanup

The accident prompted a complete closure of the eastbound Autoroute 10 access ramp to Route 132 while municipal and provincial crews worked to clear the spilled powdered cheese mix, according to Quebec 511. French-language outlet TVA Nouvelles reported that the driver appeared to misjudge the curve before the vehicle tipped onto its side. Photos captured at the scene showed the overturned truck surrounded by a thick, bright orange layer of the powdered cheese condiment. Traffic data from the area indicated the ramp closure created substantial delays for motorists commuting from Montreal toward the South Shore during the morning rush hour.

Investigation and Infrastructure Precedents

The Sûreté du Québec is investigating the exact circumstances that led to the rollover. Officers are coordinating their response with Contrôle routier Québec, the provincial agency that oversees the commercial transport of people and goods on Quebec roadways. According to TVA Nouvelles, another truck driver rolled over on the same Route 132 exit ramp on July 29 after entering the curve too quickly, escaping that crash with minor injuries. Food-related highway spills have drawn notable attention in regional transport reporting recently. Dexerto noted that the Quebec incident follows a Pennsylvania highway accident involving boxes of shredded mozzarella cheese, as well as a separate Rhode Island rollover where a truck carrying more than 20 tons of squid spilled across a roadway.
