Madrid—Paca Sauquillo, president of PSOE-M, described the UCO report implicating former National organization Secretary Santos Cerdán in the ‘Koldo plot’ as a “shock.” She insisted Cerdán promptly relinquish his Congress seat.
Sauquillo addressed the media at a rally against the “genocide” in Palestine, stating, ”We have always fought against corruption and zero corruption.” She also expressed dismay at alleged misogynistic messages involving former minister José luis Ábalos and his advisor Koldo García.
She lauded the socialists’ dedication to the “Defence of Equality.” Sauquillo also highlighted that neither Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez nor Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska were aware of the report, which she sees as a sign of “freedom in democracy” to combat corruption.
Sauquillo lamented the impact on “thousands of socialists” dedicated to fighting corruption. She added that if Cerdán does not resign, he should join Ábalos in the mixed group. “For me, he is an inexplicable character,” she concluded regarding the Santos Cerdán corruption allegations.
