This season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) has taken an unexpected turn as bride Brook Crompton, 27, announced her pregnancy and engagement just weeks into the airing of the show. The news, confirmed to Woman’s Day, marks a significant shift in her personal life following a brief and turbulent experience on the reality television program.

Crompton is expecting her first child with her ex-boyfriend, Harry, a 28-year-old builder from the Gold Coast. The couple, who initially broke up three months before Crompton joined MAFS, rekindled their relationship approximately two weeks after she left the experiment in August 2025, following what has been described as an “incident” with her assigned husband on the show, Chris Nield.

“It honestly feels like everything has fallen into place,” Crompton shared with Woman’s Day. “This is everything I’ve ever wanted – to be with a partner who supports me and loves me for me.”

The path back to each other wasn’t immediate. Harry admitted to “coming crawling back,” acknowledging he missed Crompton. However, Crompton emphasized the importance of both individuals reflecting on what led to their initial separation and committing to making things different this time. “He had to put in the hard yards, because he broke up with me,” she said. “But no, really we were both like, ‘OK, if it didn’t work back then, what are we going to do to make it work now?’”

A spontaneous trip to the Maldives with friends proved pivotal in solidifying their renewed connection. Away from the pressures of daily life, the couple found themselves reconnecting on a deeper level.

By November, Crompton discovered she was pregnant, a development she described as “surreal,” particularly given prior predictions from psychics. The couple then became engaged on Christmas Day in Aspen, Colorado. They are now living together and preparing for the arrival of their baby in August.

While Crompton’s personal life has taken a positive turn, viewers of MAFS will continue to witness the unfolding of her brief marriage to Chris Nield on screen. Crompton noted that her former partner, Chris, has distanced himself from the situation following the announcement of her pregnancy.

Crompton clarified that her initial breakup with Harry was not due to infidelity. “There wasn’t infidelity — Harry would never…,” she stated, suggesting a difference in values and compatibility as the primary reason for their initial split. She described Harry as someone who “would never fat-shame a woman or speak about anyone badly,” qualities she found lacking in her television husband.
