The community of Smithboro, Co. Monaghan, is deeply saddened by the passing of Mags Connolly, who passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9th, surrounded by her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff at Monaghan Hospital. Her loss is felt profoundly by all who knew her.
A Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
Mags was a cherished member of her family and a pillar of strength for those around her. She is survived by her husband, Harry, and her sons, Declan (and his wife Natalie), Paul, and Aidan (and his wife Aisling). Her legacy of love extends to her adored grandchildren, Eva, georgia, Sophia, Isla, and Fiadh, who brought immense joy to her life.
She was predeceased by her father, Joe, her sister, Dympna, and her parents-in-law, Joe and Mary Connolly.Mags is lovingly remembered by her mother, Lily, her sisters, Ann (toal) and Geraldine (Toal), and her brother, Seamus. Her memory will be treasured by her nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends.
Funeral Arrangements & Livestream Details
Reposing at her home on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 9pm and on Wednesday from 3pm until 9pm, the family welcomes those wishing to pay their respects. The funeral procession will leave her home on Thursday morning, arriving at St. Mary’s Church, Magherarney, for 11am Funeral Mass. Following the Mass,burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Supporting cancer Care: Donations in Lieu of Flowers
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations, if desired, to the Oncology Unit in cavan general Hospital and the Stepdown Unit in Monaghan Hospital. Donations can be made c/o Clerkins Funeral home or any family member. These units provided exceptional care and support to Mags and her family during her illness.
Significant Traffic Information: A one-way system will be in operation. access is via Magherarney and Smithboro, with exit at Greenan’s Cross.
Privacy Request: The family respectfully requests privacy at their home on the morning of the funeral to allow them the time and space to grieve and remember Mags.
