Maguire’s Tour Finale at Risk: Missed Cut Raises Doubts
Leona Maguire missed the cut at The Annika by one shot. She recorded a second-round score of 72 after an opening round of 70. This left her at two-over par, just outside the top 60 players who advance to the CME Group Tour Championship next week. Maguire is currently ranked 61st in the LPGA standings and will have to wait to see if she makes it into the field.
In her second round, Maguire started strong with birdies on the first, third, fifth, and sixth holes. However, she struggled with a double bogey on the par-5 seventh and a bogey on the eighth, which halted her progress. She managed to make a birdie on the 11th hole but dropped more shots with bogeys on the 12th and 16th.
England’s Charley Hull shot a four-under-par 66, leading the tournament at ten-under par. Nelly Korda follows in second place, scoring 8-under after two rounds of 66. A four-way tie for third place includes Alexa Pano, Jin Hee Im, Mi Hyang Lee, and Wichanee Meechai, all within striking distance at 7-under.
