Maharashtra Assembly Exit Poll Results
Axis My India released its exit poll results for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, predicting a win for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance. In Mumbai, Mahayuti is expected to secure 22 out of 36 seats, while the opposition, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), may win 14 seats. The projected vote share shows Mahayuti at 45% and MVA at 43%.
The election results will be officially announced on November 23, 2024. In total, Mumbai has 36 Assembly seats. The major contenders include the Mahayuti alliance, which consists of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, against the MVA, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP).
Other exit polls provide varied predictions. The Times Now-JVC poll highlights a close contest, suggesting BJP may win 17-19 seats and Congress 16-18 seats. Republic TV’s Matrize exit poll favors Mahayuti, predicting 20-26 seats for them and 9-15 for MVA. The SAS Group exit poll sees the MVA ahead with about 18-19 seats, while Mahayuti may secure 17-18 seats.
Overall, Axis My India forecasts a total win for Mahayuti with 178-200 seats, while MVA is projected to receive 82-102 seats. To form a government in Maharashtra, a coalition needs at least 145 seats.
