Malaysia’s Finest Hour: ‘Remembering Malaysia’ Season 2 Sweeps Best Documentary Award with NT$150,000 Prize

Octave Space performed well at the 2024 Sri Lankan Radio Film and Television Awards (ASA 2024) held last week, winning the Best Television Documentary Award (Dokumentari TV Terbaik) for the second season of “Remembering Malaysia” and winning Creative Content Fund RM150,000 Award! In addition, the third season of “The Great Generation Z” also won the Best Children’s Program Award (Rancangan Kanak-Kanak TV Terbaik), taking away a reward of RM5,000.

The second season of “Remembering Malaysia” uses a documentary format to explore the gradually disappearing traditional recipes of various origins in Malaysia, covering Hakka, Hainanese, Fujian, Fuzhou, Teochew and Nyonya cuisines and the stories of the people behind them. The program not only showcases special delicacies, but also conveys the wisdom of ancestors and the emotions of generations, evoking the cherishment and memories of traditional cooking culture. The competition for the best TV documentary this year was fierce. As the only Chinese program among the top five, the second season of “Remembering Malaysia” finally defeated many high-quality works from TV3 (TV3), TV1 and TV Sarawak to win this honor.
