The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, representing the Religious Attaché of the Custodian Embassy of the Two Holy Mosques of India, concluded the third Basic Scientific Course in the Republic of Maldives last weekend.
The course was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Shahim Ali Saeed, and several officials and Islamic personalities attended the event, where certificates were distributed to the participants. The course had over 100 participants, including preachers, imams, preachers, and male and female university students of the Maldives.
The course was led by a faculty member of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Muhammad Bin Fahd Al-Furaih, and Dr. Muhammad bin Ali al-Abdul Latif. The topics covered included issues related to faith and monotheism, Sunni and sectarian views, polytheism and its variants, values of centrism and moderation, and rejection of fanaticism and extremism.
At the end of the session, the Minister of Islamic Affairs of Maldives, Muhammad Shaheem, gave a speech in which he spoke about the strength of the bilateral relationship between the Kingdom and the Maldives. He praised the great service provided to Islam and Muslims and mentioned the care of the two holy mosques. He also highlighted the level of cooperation between the ministries of the two countries and his country’s interest in benefiting from the Kingdom’s experience in Islamic affairs and exporting a culture of tolerance and spreading the values of restraint and moderation.
The participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the Kingdom represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, especially for their efforts in the service of Islam and Muslims in the Republic of Maldives. They also thanked the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, represented by Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, for establishing various advocacy and awareness programs that serve the Maldivian Muslims and contribute to strengthening the vision of moderation, moderation, and tolerance in various countries around the world.
