John Malkovich Comedy-Drama “Mr. Blake at Your Service” Gets U.S. Release

sunrise Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to “Mr. Blake at Your Service,” a comedy-drama featuring John Malkovich, fanny Ardant, and the late Émilie Dequenne. The film is slated for a theatrical release on June 20.
Also known as “Well Done!,” the movie features Malkovich as Andrew Blake,a British businessman recently widowed. to stay connected to his late French wife’s memory, Blake takes a job as a butler at a countryside manor. There, he encounters eccentric residents and begins a journey of healing and rediscovery.
Ardant plays Nathalie de Beauvillier,the manor’s reserved lady,while Dequenne appears as Odile,the spirited cook,in one of her final roles. The cast also includes Eugénie Anselin, Al ginter, Anne Brionne, and Christel Henon.
Gilles Legardinier, the bestselling author, directed the film, adapting his 2012 novel ”Complètement cramé!” he co-wrote the screenplay with Cristel Henon. stéphane Le Parc handled the cinematography, Yves Deschamps and Chrystel Alépée the editing, and Erwann Chandon composed the score.
Henon and Lilian Eche produced the film for Bidibul Productions and Superprod, with Legardinier as co-producer. Bidibul Productions also produced “It Was Just an Accident,” the 2025 Palme d’Or winner by Jafar Panahi.
The film premiered in the U.S. at the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2023. Since then, it has been released in France, Spain, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand, and has screened at various film festivals.
