Commentary by Mamoru Miyano who plays Kitakura Sensei
I am truly happy to be able to be involved in Katsura-sensei’s work again in this way, and more importantly, to be able to work with Director Sakamoto again in this unexpected way. My heart trembles at the strange fate of my acting life. On the set, I was moved by Director Sakamoto’s passionate direction, and I was able to move forward with the role while having in-depth discussions with Katsura-sensei. Miyano will play the role of “Kitakura Sensei” with all his current strength, so look forward to it!
Commentary by Kurara Emi, who played the role of Matsuoka Sensei
I will be playing the role of Mr. Matsuoka, the school teacher of the main character Hirono. He is basically a very strict teacher. However, inside, he has a heart-warming side that watches over everyone’s growth, and he also has a surprisingly mischievous side, as he actually has a soft spot for cute boys. He is a very human teacher!
I would like to watch over and revive the youth of Hirono and his friends as they run straight despite their difficulties. Speaking of action, it’s director Sakamoto. I’m very happy to be able to work with you again! The fantastic action scenes are also something to behold!
Commentary by Koji Matoba as Masado Hirono
He plays the father of Kenta Hirono, played by Maito Fujioka. He played the role of a kind father. Although this work is a special effects work, it is full of love, friendship, and family love… I think it is full of everything. I have not personally seen the action scenes, so I can’t wait to see them on air. This work is full of the soul that Katsura-sensei continued to love. Please enjoy!
Yoshiko Hirono: Comments by Shinobu Nakayama
“What a dream!” When I read the script, I was thrilled to see a boy who admires heroes become a real hero. A son who trains every day to become a hero, a sweet father and a generous mother. I acted with the awareness that it is thanks to this family that the “ability to believe” is cultivated. It was a calm and fun shooting scene!
And I want to be the mother of all kinds of heroes! One of my sweetest dreams came true this time!
Prime Minister Daikichi Sugawara’s comments
I was surprised that Masakazu Katsura’s original work “Wingman” will be made into a live-action film on the 40th anniversary of his birth, and I feel very honored to have been able to participate in this memorable work. I played the role of a prime minister whose body was detected, and I thought it would be very scary if the leader of a country became like that. We approached the filming with the goal of making it into a live-action film, so I would be happy if you could watch it.
