A 20-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle road crash in County Antrim in the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) reported that they were alerted to a collision involving a grey BMW on the Castlecat Road in Dervock shortly before 1 a.m. On April 5.
Emergency services attended the scene alongside partners. The driver, a 20-year-old man from the Crossgar area of County Down, was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigation and Road Closure
The Castlecat Road was closed overnight to allow detectives to conduct enquiries. The road has since been reopened to motorists.
Detective Inspector Stewart from the Collision Investigation Unit confirmed that enquiries into the incident are continuing.
