Former Strongsville Assistant Athletic Director Faces Public Indecency Charge

– Brett Bartlett, the former Assistant Athletic Director for Strongsville City Schools, has been charged with public indecency following an incident at a Target store in North Olmsted, Ohio, on .

According to a North Olmsted Police Department report, officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious man in a small black truck allegedly following people in the Target parking lot on Brookpark Road. Upon arrival, officers found Bartlett in the driver’s seat with his fly unzipped and reportedly engaged in a sex act.

Strongsville City Schools placed Bartlett on administrative leave on . Initially, North Olmsted police indicated Bartlett’s leave was related to attendance issues. However, a subsequent clarification from Detective Lieutenant Matt Beck of the North Olmsted Police Department revealed that the leave was not connected to any complaints made against Bartlett during his employment with Strongsville City Schools.

Instead, Beck stated that references to “alleged inappropriate interactions with teens” stemmed from allegations related to Bartlett’s previous position at Big Walnut High School outside of Columbus, Ohio. 19 News has requested that Strongsville City Schools disclose when, if at all, the district became aware of these prior allegations.

Bartlett’s account of the incident, as documented in bodycam footage, reportedly involved a claim that he was attempting to try on a new pair of pants. This claim is detailed in a Facebook post regarding the incident.
