Fugitive Arrested in Shooting of LA Metro Bus Driver
LOS ANGELES, CA – A 45-year-old man suspected of shooting his ex-girlfriend, a Metro bus driver, while she was on break in the Thai Town area, is now in custody. Dorian Holt was apprehended Thursday in Escondido after returning to Southern California,according to the Los Angeles Police department.He is being held on $1 million bail, facing charges of attempted murder.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. on November 16th in the 1600 block of north Vermont Avenue. the 56-year-old victim, who was parked and taking a break from her route, was shot in the face by Holt, who arrived “unannounced,” police said.
“There were no other occupants on the bus at the time of the incident,” police stated. “Although the victim was on duty as an MTA bus driver, her duties were not a factor in the incident.”
The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but miraculously survived the attack.
Police released Holt’s photo to the public, seeking assistance in locating him. Detectives determined he had fled the state,though his whereabouts during his time as a fugitive remained unclear.
The motive behind the shooting is still under inquiry.
