LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Mississippi man faces felony charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle through the front gate of actress Jennifer Aniston’s Bel-Air property on Monday.
The Los Angeles County District attorney’s Office, led by Nathan J. Hochman, has charged Jimmy Wayne Carwyle with one count each of felony stalking and felony vandalism.The charges include an aggravating circumstance related to the threat of great bodily harm.
“Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to hazardous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities,” Hochman said in a statement released wednesday. “My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.”
According to the district attorney’s office, Carwyle is accused of persistently harassing Aniston, known for her roles in “Friends” and “The Morning Show,” between March 1, 2023, and May 5, 2025. The harassment allegedly included unwanted messages sent via social media, voicemails, and emails.
Authorities say that on Monday, shortly before 12:30 p.m., Carwyle allegedly drove his vehicle through Aniston’s gate, causing meaningful damage. He reportedly stopped in the driveway and was apprehended by Aniston’s security personnel until law enforcement officers arrived.
Carwyle’s arraignment is scheduled for Thursday. Prosecutors plan to request bail be set at $150,000. A conviction on all charges could result in a three-year state prison sentence.
