Son charged in Mother’s Murder, Ordered to Recieve Psychiatric Care

Athlone, Ireland – A 31-year-old man appeared in court Tuesday, charged with the murder of his mother in Athlone. Nebojsa Pap, a resident of Beechville in Athlone, stood before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Craig presented evidence of Pap’s arrest, charge, and caution. According to Craig, Pap remained silent when formally charged with the murder of his mother. A bail submission was not made, as district courts lack jurisdiction to consider bail in murder cases. Pap’s solicitor, Mark Cooney, successfully applied for legal aid.
