Man Fined for Threats Against Red Youth Leader
A 23-year-old man has been fined by the PST after he made death threats against the then leader of Rød Ungdom, Amrit Kaur, in September.
On the night of September 11, the 23-year-old wrote on the social website Jodel that he “will shoot Amrit Kaur the next time she uses her freedom of expression to share her political opinions”.
The threat was suitable to cause serious fear, believes the Police Security Service (PST), which has imposed a fine of NOK 6,000 on him, writes VG.
The day after the threat, Kaur resigned as leader of Rød Ungdom because she had posted a video on TikTok in which she sarcastically commented on the murder of American Charlie Kirk.
