​ Deadly Shooting in⁢ Compton Follows⁣ Car Crash,Suspect Found Dead

Compton,CA ‍- A woman was fatally shot in Compton Monday night after a ​man intentionally crashed ⁣his car into hers,authorities said. The suspect later died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident unfolded around 11:10 p.m. near the 900 ⁢block of South Central Avenue. Los ‍Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports ⁢of a shooting and arrived to‌ find a chaotic scene.

According‌ to investigators, a ⁣male suspect rammed his vehicle into‍ a car occupied by a⁣ man and a woman. Both victims exited their vehicle, with the man‍ fleeing towards a nearby ⁣gas station as the suspect opened‌ fire. Miraculously,the man escaped unharmed.

The ​woman,identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Theresa Pina,ran into a local business,but the suspect pursued her‍ and shot⁢ her inside. pina was pronounced ⁤dead⁣ at the scene.

Deputies discovered the suspect inside the business suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He ​was ‌treated by Compton⁣ City ⁤Fire Department personnel and⁢ transported⁢ to ‍a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. His name is being withheld⁣ pending⁢ notification of next of kin.the male‍ victim sustained injuries likely ‍from the initial car collision and‌ was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities‍ believe the shooting was not a random act,but the exact⁤ relationship between the suspect and the victims remains‌ under examination.
