Stalker’s Threat Leads to Immediate Arrest
A 48-year-old man was arrested after confessing to threatening to kill his estranged wife to the Carabinieri (Italian national police) at the Naples Capodimonte station on an intercom, according to ANSA, the leading Italian news agency. He stated, “If you don’t arrest me, I will kill my wife. I just passed by her house but she wasn’t there.”
Police immediately contacted the woman, who confirmed she was safe. The couple legally separated in March 2025 after initially breaking up in 2023 and share two children: a 19-year-old and a younger child with a serious disability.
Two-Year History of Stalking and Threats
The man had been stalking his ex-wife for two years, repeatedly appearing at her home and workplace. The victim was forced to alter her daily routine, including her work hours and routes, to avoid encounters with him.She disconnected her intercom and obtained a new phone number to evade his contact.
Despite these measures, the stalker created multiple online accounts and sent numerous death threats not onyl to his ex-wife but also to her sister, father, and even their children, whom he blamed for defending their mother.
Escalating Violence and Recent Report
Police records indicated interventions at the victim’s residence the previous night,at approximately midnight and 2:00 AM. During one of these incidents, the man attacked his 19-year-old son with a crutch, hitting him multiple times before fleeing. He also sent his son threatening messages, including the phrase “I’ll tear it into a thousand pieces…”
These escalating events prompted the woman to file a police report earlier that day, perhaps leading the man to believe she was not at home when he made the threat to the Carabinieri.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
Following his confession, the man was arrested. The case remains under investigation by the Carabinieri of Naples Capodimonte.
