Manassero, the 32-year-old Italian seeking his first PGA Tour victory, recovered from a bogey on the 17th hole with a birdie on the 18th. He tapped in from 2 feet after his third shot landed close to the pin, finishing at 14-under 196.
“I missed the short one on 17, and I did miss a couple more short ones today,” Manassero said. “I try to think of them just like a shot really… It’s just a shot.So I don’t want it to get in my head.”
Fox,38,of New Zealand, also birdied the 18th. He secured his first PGA Tour title last month at the myrtle Beach Classic.
“To be honest, everything went pretty right,” Fox said. “I drove it great… Had a lot of good wedge shots, holed a few putts early.Just played really solid kind of stress-free golf for the most part.”
Lee Hodges, Kevin Yu and Matt McCarty are one stroke behind the leaders. Hodges and Yu each shot 63, while McCarty carded a 64.
Mackenzie hughes shot 64 and is 12 under. He is joined by Jake Knapp, who shot 66, and Andrew Putnam, who finished with a 68.
“I’ve been putting the ball in play quite a bit, driving it pretty nice,” Hughes said. “I feel like that’s taken some pressure off the putter and the short game.”
Nick Taylor, the 2023 champion, eagled the 18th, finishing with a 69 to reach 10 under. Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith also are 10 under.
