Manchester NH: Suspect Flees After Highway Crash, Police Say

A man being pursued by New Hampshire State Police was fatally struck by a vehicle on Interstate 93 in Manchester Wednesday night, authorities said. The incident occurred after the suspect crashed on Hanover Street and attempted to flee on foot, running onto the highway.

According to reporting from WMUR, the initial pursuit began around 11:45 PM Wednesday. A state trooper ended the chase due to the suspect’s high speed, with sources indicating the vehicle was traveling over 100 miles per hour.

A driver traveling from Massachusetts reported seeing a significant police presence along Interstate 93 around 11:30 PM Wednesday, noting that the number of officers was unusual for that time of night.

Following the crash on Hanover Street, the suspect ran onto the highway and was subsequently hit by another vehicle near the Hanover Street overpass. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to multiple reports.

911 calls reported a separate vehicle striking a person on I-93, confirming the incident to authorities. The highway was closed for approximately three hours overnight as police investigated.
