Sanjay Manjrekar Urges Indian Team Management to Include Kuldeep Yadav in Playing Eleven
Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed his disappointment over Kuldeep Yadav’s omission from the playing eleven in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Manjrekar emphasized the value of the spinner in Indian conditions and asked the team management to include him in the upcoming second Test in Kanpur.
Manjrekar pointed out that the Chennai pitch, initially expected to favor seamers, eventually backed the spinners. He stated, “I feel Kuldeep Yadav should not be dismissed so easily. Playing him in Chennai would have benefited India as the seamers only get help for a day or half. The Indian pitch starts backing the spinners after that, and when you have a bowler like Kuldeep Yadav, you don’t get him out that easily.”
Manjrekar also discussed the conditions in Kanpur, suggesting that India should include all three spinners, regardless of the pitch’s shape. “Siraj and Bumrah were plenty of pace in the second Test. You have to play with three spinners,” he added.
