Manjusha Kulkarni: Civil Rights Advocate at California Commission

California: ⁢Governor Gavin Newsom has⁣ appointed civil ⁤rights ⁤lawyer Manjusha ⁢P. Kulkarni ‍to the State ⁤asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs Commission. The appointment is viewed as a important ​move to safeguard the rights of California’s Asian and Pacific Islander ⁢community and ⁤address the issues they encounter.

Currently, Manjusha Kulkarni ⁣serves as the Executive Director of Equity Alliance, a coalition ‌encompassing over 40 organizations and⁣ representing approximately 1.6 million Los Angeles County residents. She also co-founded​ ‘Stop AAPI ‌Hate’ in 2020, which has ‍become the nation’s leading center ⁢for reporting‌ hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.Kulkarni has received recognition from Time magazine, being named one of the 100 most⁣ influential people ⁤globally, and was included on the Bloomberg ​50 ‍list.
