Mansfield Town Signs Liam Roberts to Bolster goalkeeper Role
Mansfield Town has secured the services of Liam Roberts, enhancing their goalkeeper role. The move follows Roberts’ departure from Millwall after a single season. He joins Mansfield in League One on a free transfer.
Manager Nigel Clough expressed his enthusiasm for the signing, highlighting Roberts’ experience and suitability as the team’s new first-choice goalkeeper. The club released Christy Pym, who played in 42 games this season, paving the way for Roberts.
“We needed a first-choice goalkeeper and we think Liam fits the bill perfectly,” clough said. “He’s played against us over the years and we’ve been very impressed by him.
