Jecinta Noble: The hospice played a pivotal role in our lives when we were facing the loss of our loved ones. The care my mum received in her last days was phenomenal. The support given to us, her family, was incredible. That experience brought us all together and sparked this idea to give back to the wonderful team at Prospect.
Interviewer: It’s truly a moving tribute. Can you share more about the experience of training for the marathon?
Jecinta: Training was both rewarding and challenging. We encouraged each other every step of the way. Knowing that we were doing it in honor of our loved ones motivated us to push through the tough days. It formed a strong bond among us, and we often shared memories and stories during our runs.
Interviewer: That’s beautiful. Tell us about the marathon day itself. How did it feel crossing the finish line?
Jecinta: It was emotional, to say the least. Ms. Hill, who ran the full marathon, showed incredible strength. The atmosphere was electrifying, and all of us felt a mix of pride and sadness as we remembered why we were there. Crossing the finish line together felt like a milestone not just for us, but for our loved ones too.

Jecinta: Events like ours shine a light on the incredible work hospices do. It helps to build awareness about the services they provide and the importance of palliative care. We hope by sharing our story, we encourage others to support these vital services, whether through fundraising, volunteering, or spreading the word.
Interviewer: what would you like to say to anyone considering supporting Prospect Hospice or participating in similar events?
Jecinta: I’d tell them to go for it! Supporting a cause that truly makes a difference in people’s lives is incredibly fulfilling. Whether it’s running, donating, or volunteering, every little bit helps. We’re all touched by loss in some way, and honoring those we’ve lost can be a healing experience.
