Marc Anthony’s Salsa Tribute at the Latin Grammys
Marc Anthony paid tribute to salsa music at the Latin Grammys. He executive produced the special segment for the 25th annual ceremony. Anthony performed alongside salsa legends including Tito Nieves, Oscar D’León, and Grupo Niche. New artists Luis Figueroa and Christian Alicea joined early in the performance of “De Mí Enamórate.”
The tribute featured a medley of songs like Niche’s “Una Aventura,” Frankie Ruiz’s “Tú Me Vuelves Loco,” and De Léon’s “Llorarás.” La India also performed with Anthony, singing their classic hit “Vivir Lo Nuestro” for the first time in 29 years, surprising fellow artists like Karol G and Carlos Vives.
Anthony expressed his excitement about the tribute: “This segment is a celebration of the salsa genre, the artists, and the songs that have shaped our lives. I am very happy to share this vision with the fans.”
He was nominated for two Latin Grammys this year: best salsa album for “Muevense” and best short-form music video for “Ale Ale.” Over his career, Anthony has won nine Latin Grammy awards.
Additional performers included Alejandro Fernández, Becky G, Anitta, Joe Jonas, Jon Bon Jovi, and many more, adding to the celebration of Latin music.
