This directive came as he administered the oath of office to 35 newly promoted generals and flag officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), along with graduates from Foreign Pre-Commission Training Institutions (FPCTI) in Malacanang Palace. The significance of this event lies not only in the promotion of military leaders but also in the emphasis on the integrity of the election process and the ethos of democracy.

“Once again we find ourselves at a crucial juncture where we have to preserve not only the integrity of our election, but the very ethos of our democracy,” the president stated, underscoring the importance of a smooth and uncorrupted electoral process.
