Mariah the Scientist Cancels Governors Ball Performance After Weather Delay

Mariah the Scientist, the “burning Blue” singer-songwriter, did not perform at Governors Ball 2025 on Saturday after the New York City festival experienced meaningful delays. The Governors Ball opening was delayed by four and a half hours due to inclement weather.
The cancellation was noted at Flushing meadows Corona Park, but no immediate proclamation or explanation was provided at the event. Organizers posted a brief update on Instagram, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the last-minute cancellation of Mariah the Scientist’s set, originally scheduled for 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.Eastern time.
Mariah the Scientist acknowledged the cancellation on her Instagram account. “So upset I’m not getting to perform at Gov Ball today,” she wrote. “I’m so sorry to everybody who showed up through the traffic and rain. I apologize.” She also posted a photo of a rainy scene, adding, “I really wanted to perform.”
The three-day festival’s opening on Saturday was pushed back from noon to 4:30 p.m. due to forecasts of rain and thunderstorms.
