Mariah the Scientist, ​the “burning Blue” singer-songwriter, did not perform at Governors Ball 2025 on Saturday after ⁢the New York⁤ City festival experienced meaningful delays. The Governors Ball opening was delayed by four and a half⁤ hours due to inclement weather.

The cancellation was noted at Flushing meadows Corona⁣ Park, but no immediate ​proclamation or explanation was⁤ provided at the event. Organizers posted‌ a brief update on ​Instagram, citing “unforeseen‍ circumstances” as ​the reason for the last-minute⁢ cancellation of ​Mariah the Scientist’s set, originally ⁤scheduled for 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.Eastern time.

Mariah the Scientist acknowledged the cancellation on her Instagram⁤ account. “So upset I’m⁢ not getting to‍ perform at Gov Ball today,”‍ she wrote. “I’m so sorry to everybody who showed up through the traffic and ‍rain. I apologize.” She also posted a photo of a⁤ rainy‌ scene, adding, “I really wanted to perform.”

The⁤ three-day festival’s opening on Saturday was pushed back⁢ from noon to 4:30 p.m. due to​ forecasts⁢ of rain and ​thunderstorms.
