Former Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz could be heading to Egypt after entering into talks with Al-Ahly, according to reports.
Diaz, who boasts two Champions League titles from his time at Real Madrid, is currently a free agent after his contract with Sevilla expired at the end of last season. Spanish newspaper Marca reports that the 31-year-old is in discussions with the Egyptian giants and a move could be on the cards.
Al-Ahly are gearing up for a major tournament in 2025 – the FIFA Club World Cup. The Egyptian club has already begun strengthening its squad in preparation, recently signing Qatari midfielder hamdi Fathi from Al-Wakrah.
