Marilyn Manson Brighton Concert Canceled Amid Protests

Marilyn Manson’s scheduled Oct. 29 performance at the Brighton Center in Brighton, England, has been canceled. Ticketmaster is issuing refunds to those who purchased tickets for the show, which was to be the first leg of Manson’s “One Assassination Under God Tour” in Europe.
The cancellation comes after mounting pressure from an online campaign, “No Stage for Abusers,” and Green Party MP Siân Berry, who voiced concerns to Brighton and Hove city council leader Bella Sankey.Berry’s letter, co-signed by several local organizations, cited potential risks of discrimination, harassment, and victimization.
Manson,whose real name is Brian warner,has faced abuse allegations from more than a dozen women,including evan Rachel Wood and Esmé Bianco. He has consistently denied these accusations. In January, Los Angeles prosecutors declined to file charges, citing statute of limitations and insufficient evidence.
Millie Earl, leader of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, also urged BH Live, the operator of the Bournemouth International Centre, to reconsider Manson’s oct. 31 show in Bournemouth. Earl stated that Manson’s values do not align wiht the council’s work on initiatives like the White Ribbon accreditation scheme.
