Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson voiced immediate objections to a controversial 1998 segment where D Generation X (DX) parodied The Nation, including Sean “X Pac” Waltman appearing in blackface to portray Mark Henry. Henry recounted the incident in a recent interview wiht Inside The Ropes.
Henry stated that The Rock expressed his discomfort with the angle from the start, specifically objecting to the use of blackface and the overall portrayal of The Nation. According to Henry,The Rock said he ”didn’t like people dressing up like us” and “didn’t like people putting blackface on.”
“He was like, ‘If y’all want to do it, then we’ll do it. But I just don’t like it.'”
