The now-deleted Instagram post included a caption where Wright joked about flying economy. Social media users quickly pointed out the poor timing, given the tragic air disaster that claimed hundreds of lives. Comments flooded in, calling the post “tone-deaf” and “inappropriate.”
Wright, 38, who is vacationing in Spain with his family, swiftly removed the post and issued an apology on Instagram, explaining that the post had been scheduled in advance. He emphasized that it was a “horrendous coincidence” and that he immediately deleted the post upon realizing the timing.
“I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today’s heartbreaking events… It’s a horrendous coincidence that today’s post was on such a devastating day… I’m sorry for this mistake and any offense caused,” Wright said.
