Prophet’s Birthday Holiday Date Revealed
A reliable source has disclosed the date of the Prophet’s birthday holiday in 2024 for the private sector.
According to the source, the Prophet’s birthday holiday in 2024 will be observed on Sunday, September 15, 2024, for private sector workers, as per the provisions of Labor Law No. 12 of 2003.
As stated in the Labor Law, employers can require employees to work on this day if necessary, in which case the employee is entitled to double pay for that day, in addition to their regular wages for the day (Section 52).
Public Paid Holiday Announced
Dr. Mustafa Madbouli, the Prime Minister, has announced that Sunday, September 15, corresponding to 12 Rabi’al-Awwal in 1446 Hijri, will be a public paid holiday for employees of ministries, government departments, government agencies, local administration units, and public sector companies, as well as private sector companies, to commemorate the Prophet’s birthday.
The Ministry of Labor is expected to release a statement with the details of the Prophet’s birthday holiday in 2024, along with the periodic bulletin.
