Maroon 5 Bassist Wife: Alleged Attack Over Teen Sexts
Mickey Madden Granted restraining Order Amidst Domestic Violence Allegations
Mickey Madden, a founding member of the Grammy-winning band Maroon 5, has been granted a temporary restraining order following allegations of domestic violence. The order, issued by a Los Angeles judge on Thursday, July 31, prohibits Madden from any contact with his wife and mandates him to stay 100 yards away from her and their shared residence. A decision on weather he must vacate the home entirely has been deferred to a later court hearing.
Allegations and court Filings
The legal proceedings stem from accusations detailed in court filings by Madden’s wife, who claims he engaged in violent behavior. According to the filings, she believes Madden has as entered a sex addiction rehabilitation program. She has provided text message exchanges as evidence, where Madden reportedly apologizes for his actions.
One alleged text message reads, “Please forgive me. This all felt like a private and fake harmless fantasy it has no bearing on real life at all. I am so ashamed and so sorry can you please come back and talk to me in person.”
A representative for Madden was unavailable for immediate comment on Thursday.
Madden’s History with Maroon 5
Mickey madden’s departure from Maroon 5 in 2020 was announced following his arrest on accusations of domestic violence. At the time, Madden stated, “I have some things that I need to deal with and address right now and so I have decided to leave Maroon 5. I do not want to be a distraction to my bandmates.I wish them the absolute best.”
While no charges were filed in connection with that arrest, Madden did not return to the band. He was a foundational member of Maroon 5, having previously played with Adam Levine in their earlier group, Kara’s Flowers. The specifics of whether the previous arrest involved his current wife or another alleged victim remain unclear.
