Marshals Casts Kayce Dutton’s Former SEAL Teammate Garrett

Kayce Dutton’s former SEAL teammate Garrett is another new addition to Marshals and his casting continues an appropriate Yellowstone trend.

The character of Garrett, also known as “Double G,” is portrayed by Riley Green, a country singer-songwriter making his acting debut in the Paramount+ series. Green’s casting was revealed in episode 8, titled “Blowback,” which aired on April 20, 2026.

Garrett is introduced as a former Navy SEAL and member of an elite squad known as the Four Musketeers, which included Kayce Dutton, Pete “Cal” Calvin, and Roner. The group served together in Afghanistan, but their bond was fractured after Roner’s death during a military operation. Garrett has struggled with the aftermath, particularly blaming Pete for the incident as the team’s former leader.

Following his discharge from the SEALs—described in sources as possibly dishonorable—Garrett turned to music as a way to cope. His passion for songwriting and performing is a key aspect of his character, mirroring Riley Green’s real-life background as a recording artist.

Green’s casting continues a trend seen throughout the Yellowstone universe of featuring country musicians in acting roles. Previous episodes of Marshals have included performances by artists such as Channing Wilson, Ashley Cooke, and Adam Sanders at the Bullet n’ Barrel bar, reinforcing the show’s integration of country music into its storytelling.

According to reports, Riley Green is set to appear in four episodes of Marshals as Garrett. His portrayal marks his first major acting role, transitioning from a career primarily focused on music to television drama.

The character’s return to Kayce’s life stirs old tensions, especially as Garrett reconnects with Pete Calvin, now working as a US Marshal. Their fractured relationship, rooted in guilt and blame over Roner’s death, adds emotional complexity to the series’ exploration of loyalty, trauma, and brotherhood among former soldiers.
