The community is deeply saddened by the passing of Martin Curran, of Crockglass, Quigley’s Point. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Martin’s peaceful death at his home marks the end of a life cherished by many. A Loving Family Man
Martin Curran was a pillar of his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mavis, and his children Neil, maureen, Bernard, James, and Shaun. He was a proud grandfather to Charlie, Ava, Oisín, Daithí, and Colm, who brought immense joy to his life.
He was predeceased by his son, Columba, his parents Annie and Bernard, and his brother, John. While their loss was deeply felt,Martin carried their memory with him throughout his life.
Martin is also fondly remembered by his siblings,Jimmy,Rose,mary,Anna,and Bernadette,as well as his daughters-in-law Kerry,Ciara,and Clodagh,his son-in-law Jerry,and a wide circle of nieces,nephews,extended family,friends,and neighbours. The outpouring of support reflects the profound impact he had on so many lives.
Funeral Arrangements – Paying your Respects
The family has announced the following arrangements for those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate Martin’s life:
Removal: Today, Friday, August 8th, Martin will be removed from Kelly’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh at 2:00pm to his late residence. A one-way system will be in operation to ensure smooth traffic flow and allow everyone to pay their respects safely.
Viewing: the family welcomes visitors to his home following the removal.
Funeral Mass: On Sunday, August 10th, Martin will be taken from his home at 12:20pm to St. columba’s Church, Drung, for a Funeral mass at 1:00pm.
Burial: Following the Funeral Mass, Martin will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
Live Stream of requiem Mass
For those unable to attend the Funeral Mass in person, it will be live-streamed on St-doves-drung – MCN. This allows friends and family from afar to join in the festivity of Martin’s life and offer their prayers.
A Request from the Family
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Heart Failure Service, Letterkenny. This is a cause close to their hearts, and your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made through any family member or directly to Kelly’s Funeral Directors.
