Marvel rivals Developers Eye Cross-Progression, But Technical hurdles Remain
NetEase Games acknowledges player desire for cross-progression in their superhero brawler, Marvel Rivals, but implementing the feature presents important technical challenges.
While Marvel Rivals currently boasts crossplay,allowing players on PC,PlayStation 5,and Xbox Series to battle it out together,progress isn’t shared across platforms. This means switching from PC to console (or vice versa) results in starting over.
“We certainly know players are eager for cross-progression and we’re actively working on it,” a NetEase Games representative stated. “However, implementing cross-progression involves navigating numerous platform-specific regulations, and we’re still exploring solutions.”
The developers assured fans that they are committed to finding a solution and will announce it as soon as it’s ready.
In the meantime, Marvel rivals is gearing up for a festive party. Starting December 20th, players can dive into a winter-themed event featuring a mode inspired by Splatoon and exclusive holiday costumes.
