Marvel Rivals: Exclusive Variant Covers and Game Launch Details Revealed

Excitement grows for the upcoming release of Marvel Rivals. This free-to-play, team-based shooter aims to capture the competitive energy of games like Valorant and Overwatch. To heighten interest, Marvel revealed exclusive variant comic book covers based on the game, set to release next year.

All characters in Marvel Rivals will be available at launch. However, only a few will feature on special covers. Iconic characters like Spider-Man and Venom will grace the covers, showcasing the unique art style of Marvel Rivals. These beautifully illustrated variants are by Peach Momoko, known for her work on Demon Days and Ultimate X-Men.

Peach Momoko is also responsible for character designs in Marvel Rivals. While NetEase, the game’s developer, has experience with titles like Once Human and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, information on its Creative Director Guangyun Chen and Art Director Dino Ma is less visible. This lack of clear background has caused some skepticism about Marvel Rivals, especially after recent disappointments in the video game market.

Players will not have to wait long to see if Marvel Rivals meets expectations. The game launches on December 6, 2024, as a free-to-play title on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It includes a compelling lineup of variant comic covers hitting stores on January 8, featuring titles such as Storm #4, Fantastic Four #28, Magik #1, All-New Venom #2, and Amazing Spider-Man #65.
