The Marvel Multiverse is now in Madrid with an exciting exhibition titled Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes. This event is held at the Ifema fairground and showcases a vast array of Marvel superheroes through colorful figures, costumes, original comic pages, and interactive videos. The exhibition tells a story that spans 85 years, highlighting characters from Captain America to Spider-Man and the X-Men.

The exhibition features 200 pieces, including over 100 original artifacts. Notable displays include a 1940 cover of Captain America punching Hitler, which sold for three million dollars. Visitors can explore the rich history of comic book heroes, starting from the debut of Superman in 1938, which paved the way for future heroes.

Curator Patrick A. Reed highlights how Marvel’s creators, living in diverse New York City, incorporated the city’s variety into their stories. The exhibition invites fans to engage in interactive displays such as dressing up as Iron Man and taking photos with characters like The Thing from The Fantastic Four.

The exhibition also educates attendees on Marvel’s history and production techniques, including the unique “Marvel method” created by Stan Lee. Unlike traditional comic scripting, this method involved artists creating story panels, which Lee later filled with dialogue.

Marvel’s early characters included the Human Torch and Namor, launching a superhero boom. Captain America symbolized anti-Nazi sentiments, capturing the spirit of the era. Over the decades, characters like Spider-Man emerged, representing teenage struggles and societal issues.

Marvel reflected societal changes and embraced diversity in its characters. Black Panther and others tackled race in America. Similarly, Captain America engaged with real political events, reinforcing superheroes’ connection to contemporary life.

Today, superheroes remain relevant. Reed states that the superhero archetype resonates with each new generation. Marvel’s messages of responsibility, community, and kindness continue to inspire audiences globally. The Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes exhibition celebrates this enduring legacy and invites everyone to appreciate the heroes that shaped modern storytelling.
