A Twelve-Year Wait Ends in Sudden Tragedy

Marwa Ahmed Al-Amin Bakhit wanted motherhood for nearly 12 years. Then, the delivery room turned catastrophic.

According to reporting by Emarat Al Youm, Bakhit’s pregnancy had been entirely normal. Her health remained stable right up until the scheduled day. She entered a planned cesarean section, conscious and present. She even managed to see and hold the first baby.

Then came the arrival of the second child.

Sudden Complications in the Delivery Suite

Sudden medical complications struck mid-delivery. Hospital staff later informed the family that Bakhit suffered clots in her lungs and heart.

Medical teams attempted resuscitation multiple times. It was not enough. She did not survive.

Her sister, Maha, told Emarat Al Youm that despite the devastating loss of their mother, the newborns are healthy and well.

A Life Rooted in Dubai

Bakhit was no stranger to the city. She had lived in the United Arab Emirates since she was one year old. Her entire foundational life played out in Dubai, where she attended schools from kindergarten through high school before entering the workforce.

Life dealt the family heavy blows before. After the deaths of both her parents from cancer, Bakhit stepped up. She became the primary breadwinner, supporting her two sisters alongside her husband, Othman Ahmed.

Mourners Gather at Al Quoz Cemetery

A large crowd of mourners attended the burial, gathering to support her husband and family.

Maha noted that the family was surprised by the vast outpouring of sympathy and prayers on social media. To her family, that digital wave reflected the deep affection and good reputation Bakhit always held among the people of Dubai.

An Urgent Appeal for the Surviving Family

The sudden loss leaves an immense financial vacuum. Bakhit’s husband is currently unemployed, and her two sisters have no independent source of income in the country.

The family is currently looking forward to obtaining support and assistance, especially since Marwa’s two sisters do not have a source of income in the country, while her husband is currently unemployed.

Maha appealed directly to charitable individuals and relevant authorities. She asked for help to secure employment for one of Bakhit’s sisters, a vital step to assist the family in covering basic living expenses following the loss of their primary provider.
