It is indeed with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary, who left us peacefully at her home in Lisacul, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on July 21st, 2025. Born in Cloonfaughna, Bekan, Claremorris, Co. Mayo,on February 18th,1934,Mary’s life was a testament to love,family,and quiet strength.
A Foundation of Family and Love
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph, her brother PJ.,her sister Rena,and her nephew Enda. Though their absence is deeply felt, the memories and love they shared remain a cherished part of her enduring legacy.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her dear: her sons Paul, Shane, and Barry; her daughters Patricia, Deirdre, Anna Marie, Siobhan, and Karen.Her sister Bridget also remains,a constant reminder of their shared journey.
mary’s heart overflowed with pride for her twenty-two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, each a bright spark in the tapestry of her life. She is also remembered with affection by her sons-in-law Seamus, Ray, and Declan; her daughter-in-law Fiona; Paul’s partner, clodagh; and Barry’s partner, Vicky. Extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends will also miss her dearly, recalling her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.
Honoring mary’s Life: Funeral Arrangements
Mary will repose at The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen, on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, offering a time for reflection and shared remembrance.The funeral Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Thursday at 12:00 PM in christ the King Church, Lisacul. The procession will depart from her home at 11:30 AM, leading to the church where loved ones will gather to celebrate her life. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in Lisacul cemetery, a peaceful final resting place.
