Lexington, MA - The halls of Jonas Clarke Middle School are buzzing with more then just the excitement of the upcoming holidays. Students are hard at work collecting toys, books, and warm clothing for children in need as part of their annual holiday gift drive.
“We want to make sure every child has a special holiday,” saeid eighth-grader sarah Chen,who is leading the initiative. ”It’s important to remember that not everyone is as blessed as we are, and even a small gift can make a big difference.”
The drive, which kicked off last week, has already seen an outpouring of generosity from students, teachers, and parents. Boxes overflowing with donations are stationed throughout the school, a testament to the community’s commitment to spreading holiday cheer.
“It’s heartwarming to see our students so passionate about helping others,” said Principal Michael LaCava. “This gift drive is a splendid example of the empathy and compassion that defines our school community.”
