BOSTON — A wave of connectivity is coming to massachusetts, thanks to a $14.1 million federal grant aimed at bridging the digital divide. The funding, awarded by the National Telecommunications and Details Administration (NTIA), will provide free, in-unit Wi-Fi in public housing and low-income neighborhoods across the state, including Western massachusetts’ Hampden County.
The initiative,part of the Biden-Harris administration’s “Internet for All” programme,will also offer Wi-Fi cellular hotspots to individuals experiencing homelessness and secure new or used Internet-enabled devices for those in need.
