November 17, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor News

Massive Fire at AutoZone Store in Hollywood

A large fire broke out at an AutoZone store in Hollywood on Saturday. The fire has severely damaged the building and affected a nearby store.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the fire around 4:20 p.m. at the AutoZone on N. Highland Avenue. SkyFOX images showed thick smoke billowing from the store.

The AutoZone is part of an L-shaped strip mall. The flames spread rapidly, shooting out of the roof around 4:45 p.m. Firefighters then changed their strategy to a defensive approach. Within minutes, the roof was engulfed in flames.

By 5:30 p.m., firefighters had made considerable progress, but some flames remained visible on the roof.

Highland Avenue is closed in both directions between DeLongpre Avenue and Lexington Avenue as firefighters work to control the situation.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries.
